We’ve spent the past few weeks exploring a powerful truth: When we listen to rangatahi, we don’t just prepare them for the future we start building it together.
Now, as the kōrero continues, we’re excited to share the next step in that journey. It’s not quite ready but it’s real, and it’s on its way.
The Whenua Tech Talent Pipeline is currently under construction.
And when it launches, it won’t just be a platform. It will be a movement.
What Is the Pipeline?
Imagine a space both digital and community-led where rangatahi can showcase their skills, connect with real-world opportunities, and step into pathways designed around who they are, not just what they know.
That’s what the Pipeline will be:
- A central hub to track rangatahi progress, passions, and purpose
- A connector between industry needs and education delivery
- A place where whānau, educators, and employers can all support youth development without guesswork
But like any bridge that lasts, it’s being built carefully stone by stone, system by system.
Why We’re Not Rushing It
We know the demand is high.
We know rangatahi are ready.
We know industry is watching.
But we also know this:
🌱 If we’re going to build something by rangatahi, for rangatahi, we have to get it right.
🛠️ That means:
- Designing with cultural intelligence, not just tech specs
- Ensuring educators aren’t burdened, but supported
- Making sure industry doesn’t just extract value but contributes to the journey
This is about legacy not just logistics.
The Bridge We’re Building
Here’s what the Pipeline will deliver (within the next 8–12 weeks):
🧭 1. Profiles with Purpose
Rangatahi will be able to share more than grades or CVs. They’ll show:
- Projects they’ve completed (school-based or Whenua Tech-led)
- Micro-credentials or soft skills earned
- Cultural strengths and community ties
- Where they want to go, not just where they’ve been
🤝 2. A Space for Educators to Track & Support
Kaiako will be able to:
- Endorse student competencies
- Integrate resource packs and project briefs
- See clear pathways for students without reworking their entire curriculum
💼 3. Industry Matchmaking That Works
Employers can:
- Discover rangatahi based on real capability and kaupapa alignment
- Submit micro-internship projects and entry-level roles
- Build trusted, long-term connections with talent that reflects Aotearoa’s future
Where We Are Now
✅ Design Phase: Complete
✅ Feedback Round: In motion with rangatahi, educators, and partners
✅ Build Phase: Actively underway
🗓️ Launch Target: 8–12 weeks from today
🎯 First Release Goal: Showcase profiles, internship portal, and educator dashboard
We’re doing this in real time with input from real people. That means some parts may change, evolve, and strengthen as we move forward.
And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
How You Can Be Part of It
Whether you’re a teacher, mentor, employer, or rangatahi yourself this Pipeline is being built with you in mind.

In Closing
The Pipeline isn’t live (yet). But neither was Whenua Tech two years ago.
And look how far we’ve come.
We’re not just laying down code. We’re laying down culture.
We’re not just programming a product. We’re programming trust.
And we’re not just building a platform we’re building a promise.
To rangatahi.
To their whānau.
To our future.
Let’s build the bridge together.
